ST LOUIS, MO – Shell construction of the $54 million The Shoppes at Mid Rivers in St. Peters, Missouri, is nearly complete, with concrete block and tilt-up walls in place despite weeks of rainy weather. Interior build-out is scheduled to begin in early June. Knoebel Construction, Inc. of Chesterfield, Missouri, is the general contractor on The Shoppes at Mid Rivers, the largest mall to be built in St. Charles County since 2008.
Vertical construction began in February and is on schedule, despite inclement weather in March and April. The mall buildings will be under roof by June 1, when Knoebel begins interior construction and build-out of all tenant stores.
The project employs an average of 75 construction workers a day at the St. Peters site. Knoebel Construction divided the wok into several subprojects with separate management teams to meet an expedited schedule and the developer’s goal of completing the mall by Fall 2017, in time for the holiday shopping season.
The 270,000-square-foot shopping center, developed by GBT Realty Corp. of Brentwood, Tennessee, includes 14 buildings on 28 acres just north of Interstate 70 from Mid Rivers Mall, the only regional mall in St. Charles County. Confirmed tenants include Academy Sports + Outdoor, Burlington, Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, Home Goods, Ulta Beauty, Five Below and Famous Footwear. Aspen Dental will be located on one of four outparcels on the site.
